Information

Before you post a bug make sure you have the newest version of BS2 and the bug isn't already listed here.
Then create a “Level 2 Headline” (H2 icon) and give the bug a name. Then give a description of the bug and explain exactly how to reproduce the bug. A short description of you computer would be very nice, at least you operating system and you CPU.
The colored text is added by me (Sieben, the developer of BS). Red means this will be fixed in the next release. Yellow means it will be fixed in the future. Green means bug should be fixed. Blue means this is not a bug.

Bugs

Example BUG

If you mix Glue and Extinguisher it explodes.
Create a bowl of Earth and put Glue into this bowl. Then add Extinguisher to it. It will explode.
I use WinXP SP2 and have an Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo CPU.
This is not a bug. It's just an example of how to post a bug.

Menu bug

when you resize the window, to something so small, some to the menu items dont show, the buttons get messed up, because the buttons work on a relationship of X,and Y, coordinates, and since the resizing of the window changed the icon placement,…well lets just say you have to see it for yourself. just make the window width as thin as you can, then click on “new”…
I want to fix this bug in a later version.

Long window rotation bug

make the window Really long. then press the rotate button while there is particle on the screen. only some stuff rotates.
This is not a bug. A non square rectancle cannot be rotated.

Connection Bug

When you connect to BS2 using the telnet port it only connects on 127.0.0.1
By default you can only connect to BS2 on localhost. This is a security issue. I added the ALLOWALLIPS in Alpha 4 to allow every ip to connect.

Getting Interactions List Bug

When i use the command “LIST INTERACTIONS Fire” for example, i get this:
(INTERACTIONS)
1
1
1
1
1
(END)
This only tell me that there are 5 interactions with fire, is it normal?
This should be fixed in Alpha4.

Backspace Bug

If you write something using the text engine, and then use the backspace, backspace work very fine, but when you have erase and then continue to write, the writing continue where you first start to erase:
You write “BURNINGSAND” then backspace 4 times so you have “BURNING”, then retype “SAND” and youll get “BURNING- - - -SAND” the ”-” being spaces.
Some other User: Where's the bug? Backspace is used for time rewind, not for deleting letters.
Asker: Well when you use burning sand to write, the backspace is reassigned to delete the last letter. Just try !
In BS2 backspace is assigned for going back in time one step. Currently only the Sandbox goes back 1 step. Perhaps in future version i'll add step back function for the writing position as well.

Window Interaction

When you make the window to 'Teleporting'(Ever Fall) or whatever… and you drop water und make a plant the plant can't move when it reachs the end of window Pic: http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/files/4nfa-1-gif.html

NOBIAS Bug?

Whenever I load the following code in, the elements go toward the top right hand corner.

Interaction Wall Clear Clear Wall 32768

NOBIAS ELEMENT:Wall

I wonder if this is a bug.

BGLAYER & ELEMENT COLOR

If you have a bmp loaded into the bglayer “LOAD BGLAYER example.bmp” and then set clear to another color, and it won't work properly
SET ELEMENTR:Clear 100
TIMER 10 FRAMES <SET ELEMENTR:Clear 200>
TIMER 30 FRAMES <SET ELEMENTR:Clear 0
This is quite annoying in my mod that uses a background layer

Non-working Mods

sometimes when i try certain mods, they don't work and any part of the menu covering the square that says “welcome to burning sand 2” dissapears and the rest just stays up stuck on the screen until i either 1: open the menu again and select a working mod or 2: close the game window. two examples of mods that don't work are the wires and chemistry mods, both by Nuclear_Controll
